The 'knock-out' game: another attack, another arrest

Posted: Updated:

The 'knock-out' game is the definition of senseless and stupid. The attacker sucker punches a random person on the street, for no reason, in an attempt to knock the person out with that one single punch.

Now one person is under arrest for the latest incident..

The NYPD arrested the man pictured above for his alleged role in a knock-out game attack that occurred Friday morning in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn.

We spoke to one orthodox Jewish man who knows about this game all too well. He's the man who was attacked.

He's too afraid to reveal his name and face as he recounts what happened.

“One of them as I tried to get away surrounded me” the victim said. “One of them as I tried to get away with a closed fist, hit me on the face.”

Just two weeks ago in Crown heights, the men seen in a security camera video are believed to have slugged a 12 year old Jewish boy.

The NYPD says it is investigating at least half a dozen knock-out type attacks all against Jewish people.

Today the National Action Network denounced the attacks.

“It is despicable” Al Sharpton said. “We would not be silent if it was the other way around, we cannot be silent when it is from our own community.”

Similar attacks have also played out across the world from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia to even London.

Patrols in many Jewish communities have now been stepped up.

The latest knock-out victim says he has no doubt what his attackers wanted to do.

“They called after me, come on, I can do this, I will knock you out” he said.

Police say the two American flags swiped from the Brooklyn Bridge and replaced with faded white ones are back on U.S. soil. NYPD spokesman Sgt. Carlos Nieves said Friday that the flags are in the United States. He did not know their exact location. Two German artists claimed responsibility earlier this month for the July 22 stunt.

Out of over 500 hopefuls only a handful will join the Brooklyn Nets Kids Dance Team. The Nets held auditions this week at LIU Brooklyn. Adorable Bronx native Arielle was turned away last year but this time around she's made it through to the final round of the auditions. But even those who were on the team last year still have to try out.
