SEWELL, NJ -

As cameras flashed around him little did 6-year-old Aiden Riebel know his dreams would soon come true.

He was sworn in as an honorary fireman for the night thanks to the Washington Township Fire Department.

"He's a fighter already he's one of the bravest kids I've met," Washington Township Fire Department Deputy Chief Ed Weitzman said.

He's brave because while most kids Aiden's age struggle wondering when and where they'll be able to play.

Aiden is battling leukemia for the third time since being diagnosed at the age of one. His family is concerned with the prognosis he's been given now that he's fighting stage 4.

"Most kids that relapse for a third time don't make it but he's still here," Christin Ludwig, Aiden's mom said.

That's why Christmas came early for Aiden at the Washington Township Fire House.

Not only did he get to play firefighter for the night, but the aspiring baseball player's face lit up when he got his wish and was surprised by meeting with the Phillies Phanatic and catcher Carlos Ruiz.

"It was special," Aiden said." I haven't had this much fun and today was a pretty cool."

"It's overwhelming that one town can come together for one child," Ludwig said.

Aiden's parents say he has his ups and downs but like he said today was pretty cool.

On Saturday his family is having a beef and beer fundraiser so he'll continue to have good days like today.
