NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - The Boys & Girls Club of America in Paterson, NJ, was a place often visited by a young Victor Cruz.

The standout NY Giants wide receiver went back to his roots on Tuesday to make an important announcement.

The hometown hero along with the NY/NJ Snowflake Foundation announced a donation of more than $500K for the facility.

The money will be used to renovate the club's aquatic center.

“It feels good to be back here to be doing something so monumental for these kids to build them a new pool and new programs," said Cruz.

The Paterson native gets back to work on the field on Sunday when Big Blue faces the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.

Fruit packaged by the Wawona Packing Company out of Cutler, California and sold at stores across the country is being voluntarily recalled. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says there is a possibility the recalled products may be contaminated with listeria. No illnesses have been linked to the recall. Certain lots of peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots sold at Trader Joe's, Costco, Sam's Club and Fresh Direct could be contaminated with the dangerous food-borne pathogen.
