The Tufts University Lacrosse Team is getting a bright new and young star. Seven-year-old Jacob Beranger, has been battling cancer since he was three. he was matched up with the Tufts Lacrosse Team.

"This guy is tough, competitive and we love being around him," said Head Coach Mike Daly.

It's all part of a program called the Team Impact, which matches children with life threatening illnesses with college teams.

Jacob's been through a lot already in his young age. He was in ICU for three months and put into a coma. After he woke up, he had to be taught how to walk all over again, according to mother Joanne Beranger.

Today, he is in remission and experiencing the feel of a big time college athlete. He even has his own locker, jersey and helmet.

"Just excited to be here and every opportunity that we have we just want to never take a second for granted," said Daly.

Head coach Mike Daly says that Jacob is one tough kid and very competitive and the team loves being around him.

"Every time he shows up he brightens our day. He's tough and great to be around," said Team Captain Kane Delaney.

"And we're going to help you kick cancer's butt," Daly said to Beranger.

Jacob's mom says that since her son has been a part of the team, it has brought the joy and life back into him.

"This is so cool. He's going to want to be here every day," she said.
