With six games remaining in a season that can't end soon enough, Vikings fans can start (if they haven't already) looking forward to the 2014 NFL Draft and maybe…just maybe they can find their franchise quarterback.
If the season ended today (which we know...it doesn't), the Vikings would hold the second overall pick in the draft. Based on current records, here are the top five (or bottom five).
1. Jacksonville (1-9)
2. Vikings (2-8)
3. Atlanta (2-8)
4. Tampa Bay (2-8)
5. Houston (2-8)
Of the five listed, all except Atlanta is in the market for a franchise quarterback and with the big three of Marcus Mariota, Teddy Bridgewater and Johnny Manziel, the team will need to remain in the top three to give themselves a chance .
The first tie breaker is strength of schedule and the Vikings own that tiebreaker.
