ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

Police are investigating a series of thefts of musical instruments from several colleges in St. Paul.

At the University of St. Thomas, two trombones and a guitar were stolen from downstairs lockers at the Brady Education Center. Similar thefts have been reported at Macalester College and Hamline University.

Police believe Michael Lippert and Nicole Korolchuk have been breaking into homes during real estate open houses. The two were arrested Friday.

Investigators believe Lippert and Korolchuk are meth addicts who are stealing and selling the instruments to support their habit.
