A Cook County judge has ruled he won't unseal a special prosecutor's report examining the 2004 death of a man killed in a fight with the nephew of Chicago's former mayor.

The Chicago Sun-Times and WMAQ-TV asked for the 162-page document reviewing the investigation into David Koschman's death.

The Sun-Times reports Wednesday that Cook County Judge Michael Toomin rejected the news organizations' request. The judge sealed the reports at the request of special prosecutor Dan K. Webb.

Richard J. Vanecko is the nephew of Mayor Richard Daley. Vanecko is to go to trial in February for involuntary manslaughter for the 21-year-old's death. Koschman died days after hitting his head in a fight with Vanecko outside a Chicago bar.

The judge noted sealing the documents is a "temporary measure."
