Twin Cities gas prices fall below $3

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Average gas prices in the Twin Cities metro have dropped 14 cents in the past week, now averaging $3.03 per gallon, but dozens of gas stations are selling in the $2.95 to $2.99 range.

The prices come from a daily survey of 1,106 gas outlets in Twin Cities by GasBuddy.com.

Twin Cities average: $3.03/gal
National average: $3.20/gal

Twin Cities gas prices are 22.3 cents per gallon lower than last year and 28.9 cents lower than last month.

GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan said gas prices to could drop to as little as $3.05 per gallon by Christmas.
