Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson was arrested for probable cause DWI and was released after posting bail on Saturday afternoon.
According to the arrest record, a Minnesota State Trooper responded to a report of a stalled vehicle on I-394. Simpson exited the Dodge Charger when the trooper pulled up and showed signs of intoxication including watery eyes and slightly slurred speech. He told the officer he was coming from the Pourhouse but denied having been drinking. After performing field sobriety tests, Simpson was placed under arrest based on the trooper's observations of the tests. Simpson refused to take a breath test at the jail and was booked for DWI/test refusal at 5:39 a.m.
Simpson is the Vikings leading receiver with 491 yards on 33 catches. The Vikings are off until Sunday November 17th after their Thursday night win over Washington.
