Voting problems reported in Candler Park

ATLANTA -

There were reports of major voting problems in Candler Park on Tuesday.

Computer malfunctions at the Epworth United Methodist Church polling precinct meant that some voters got the wrong ballot.

At an afternoon news conference, Fulton County Elections Director Richard Barron explained that some people got the wrong ballot because of an error by the Secretary of State's office. Barron said officials were working to determine the source of the problem.

Barron trying to reassure voters that the problem was corrected in a few hours, but couldn't say how many people's ballots were wrong.

Once the problem was discovered, provisional ballots were offered. Any votes cast before the problem was detected will be thrown out, Barron said.
