CLIFTON HEIGHTS, Pa. -

A 36-year-old Clifton Heights man has been charged with assault and harassment after getting into a fight in church, police say.

Authorities say Matthew von Siegel turned himself in on Friday.

Police said the fight broke out on Oct. 20 at Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Drexel Hill over a baby crying.

According to police, von Siegel allegedly commented to the mother that he wanted the baby to stop crying. Another parishioner stepped in.

Police say von Siegel punched the man in the face, and the man had to be treated at the hospital for facial injuries.

After investigating both sides of the story, police decided to charge von Siegel.
