MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Accumulating wet snow is possible Tuesday night in the Twin Cities metro, but it's too early to say for certain due to multiple limiting factors.

Tuesday's system starts as rain, but will slowly mix with, and eventually change over to, wet snow late Tuesday into early Wednesday.

A very narrow band of accumulating snow is possible by Wednesday morning, but five factors are all in play:

1. Time of arrival

2. The track of the storm

3. Temperatures at different layers of the atmosphere

4. Our unfrozen ground

5, Dry air moving in from Canada

These all play a role in attempting to limit snow accumulation potential.
