FBI Asking for Public's Help in LAX Shooting Investigation

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

(FOX 11/AP) - FBI officials asked for the public's help Saturday in their investigation of the deadly shooting at Los Angeles International airport.

The FBI is asking that anyone that may have electronic recordings of the events surrounding the Friday morning shooting to submit copies to the investigative agency.

"No information is too small," an FBI spokesman said.

If convicted, Paul Anthony Ciancia, 23, could get the death penalty. He was arrested Friday after authorities say he barged into a terminal, pulled an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle from his duffel bag and opened fire.

Federal prosecutors filed charges of murder and commission of violence at an international airport.

Investigators are still trying to piece together all the information they have so far. Ciancia left behind a letter at the airport that specifically mentioned TSA agents. He stated in the note that he "wanted to instill fear in the traitorous minds" of the TSA agents at the airport.

Federal officials have been unable to personally interview Ciancia because he is still hospitalized and is "unresponsive," and would not elaborate further on his condition.

"We are really going to draw a picture of who this person was, his background, his history. That will help us explain why he chose to do what he did," FBI Special Agent in Charge David L. Bowdich said.

A Transportation Security Administration officer, Gerardo I. Hernandez, was killed and five others suffered shooting injuries, including two TSA officers and Ciancia. Hernandez was the first TSA official in the agency's 12-year history to be killed in the line of duty.

People who recorded video, pictures or audio are asked to submit them via the FBI website at https//laxshootingtips.fbi.gov. Tips or questions may be phoned in to the special hotline at (888) 226-8443.

It's no secret that Microsoft has struggled in the hardware department so I can't say whether the Surface Pro 3 will be the hero Microsoft needs but I can say it is the modern computing experience users deserve. I love it and think you should too! Read on to find out why.
