CARROLLTON, Ga. -

Authorities are offering a reward for information about the 2000 murder of a 22-year-old University of West Georgia student.

Toyal Jackson told her roommate that she was on her way to Walmart, but she was never seen alive again.

Law enforcement officials in Carrollton said they have never stopped working the case and hope that a new $25,000 reward will generate new leads.

"With Facebook, Twitter, with all the stuff that is available now, maybe we will hit the right person that knows something," said Mayor Wayne Garner of the Carrollton Police Department.

Police believe that Jackson was raped, murdered and then dumped into waste water facility.

After the murder, a witnessed recalled seeing Jackson leave with a man in a red pickup truck.  A sketch of the man was developed.  Police have released an age-enhanced sketch of that suspect.

Anyone with information on the murder is asked to call police at (770) 834-4451.
