HAZEL PARK, Mich. (AP) - State police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck involved in a fatal crash on a suburban Detroit freeway that may have stemmed from a dispute.

Police say 40-year-old Stacie N. Pennington of Harper Woods was pronounced dead at a hospital following the crash about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 75 in Hazel Park.

Police are looking for a white GMC pickup truck with tinted windows and a "Pure Michigan" license plate.

"Somebody ran her down, ran her off the road. She's a wife, mother of four kids," says Reginald Johnson, Pennington's brother-in-law.

Witnesses told police that Pennington's vehicle and the pickup were heading southbound at a high rate of speed and there may have been an altercation involved. Police say Pennington lost control and crashed while the pickup kept going afterward.

"It's just awful that someone would take it to that extreme, just, road rage, someone has to lose their life? I mean, I just hope he would turn his self in, because, what's he's done, he's devastated a whole family," says Tonya Leonard Gilbert, a cousin of the victim.

Tips are being sought from the public in the investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information on the pickup may call the state police Metro Post at 248-584-5782.
