Man sexually assaulted during DC home invasion, police looking for 4 suspects

Posted: Updated:

D.C. police are looking for four armed suspects who held eight people against their will inside a Southeast D.C. row house Wednesday morning before sexually assaulting a male victim and physically assaulting two others.

Multiple law enforcement sources tell FOX 5 the man who was sexually assaulted inside the house was sodomized with an object while being threatened with torture.

Sources say the suspects had a bolt cutter and told the man they would cut off his fingers and another part of his body if he didn't give them what they wanted.

D.C. police were called to the house in the 4200 block of Southern Avenue just after 5 a.m.

The victims told police around 2 a.m., three people entered the house to find the masked men holding five people against their will in the basement.

The man who was sodomized was taken into a separate room where he was physically and sexually assaulted as the suspects demanded money.

Two other people were also physically assaulted.

The timeline released by police suggests the victims were restrained for several hours before police were called sometime after 5 a.m.

Evidence technicians spent hours inside the house leaving with numerous paper bags containing possible evidence.

No one in the home wanted to talk -- one person looked through the front window and simply shook his head no.

Neighbors said mostly young people lived in the house, but they did not know much more than that.

"Man, I can't believe that,” said neighbor Thomas Hebb. “Watching the news and you see all this stuff happening, makes you wonder what's next.”

It is still unclear what medical assistance was given to the injured and whether any of them were hospitalized.
