Police Investigate Assault Of Teenage Girl

Posted: Updated:

"She was crying and hysterical," said Suzy Boddy. She's talking about the 15-year old girl who Philadelphia Police say a man tried to abduct around 8:30 Tuesday morning. Suzy says she's baby sits the girl who she also says is mentally challenged while her foster parents are at work.

"She came in and she said somebody grabbed me, somebody grabbed me," Suzy recalls.

It happened on Marsden Street in the Holmesburg section of the city. The girl was playing outside when police say the man they now have a sketch of, grabbed her arm and forced her into a car. Police say the girl told them the suspect took her to Delaware Linden Avenue Boat Ramp Park where he assaulted her.

"She said somebody grabbed me and he hit me," said Suzy.

Police say the suspect slapped the girl in the face then drove her back to her neighborhood where she ran home and Suzy called police. Suzy said, "Police did a swab test with an ultraviolet light and they took pictures of her face and measured it. They measured the bruise on her arm too." The victim reportedly just moved onto the block about two months ago and is home during the day until she's placed in school. No one we talked to in the neighborhood said they've seen the man but Suzy hopes everyone will be on the lookout.

"I can guarantee if I find him he's not going to be walking too well," she said.

The suspect is believed to be between 50 and 60 years old. Police say he was driving a blue 2-door older model car with scratches on the side of vehicle. The car has leopard covers on the front seats and steering wheel.
