Thieves steal disabled woman's car, mobility scooter

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

A DeKalb County grandmother is hoping that the thieves who stole her car will return the mobility scooter that was in the trunk.

Diane Jolly said the car was taken from the parking lot at the Druid Forest Condominiums last week.

The 72-year-old woman said she's been disabled for 20 years with knee, back and hip problems that have gotten progressively worse.

After she gets her Social Security check and pays her rent, buys groceries and medicine, Jolly said there's almost no money left. She's worried how she'll get around without a car and her scooter.

The crooks also got her ID, checkbook and credit cards that were in her locked car. Jolly said that her bank reimbursed her for the unauthorized charges, but it is that much-needed scooter that she really prays will return.

"Bring back my scooter and leave it at the front. I don't care. No questions asked," Jolly said.

DeKalb County police said they are investigating the car theft, but don't have any leads yet.

Ten time Ironman, Dave Nazaroff recently rode 900 miles on his bicycle...from Nyack, New York...to Georgia. He didn't do it to get in shape, or to win a competition; he did it to raise money for a 11 year old Callie Truelove in Gainesville, Georgia.

You always hear that it's a great idea to get rid of your credit cards, but sometimes it really is the best way to pay. So here's another option: charge cards.
