MADISON, Wis. (AP) -

Campus police at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have issued a warning about excessive drinking after two students were found passed out with life-threatening levels of blood alcohol.

Both were found Saturday in separate circumstances.

In the first case, a campus officer found an 18-year-old unconscious on the ground about 12:30 a.m. Officers eventually were able to rouse him. He couldn't stand, his speech was slurred and he vomited in police custody.

Police say his blood-alcohol level was 0.36 percent, more than four times the legal limit.

The other person was a 20-year-old man. He was found about 10:30 p.m., passed out and covered in vomit. His blood-alcohol level was 0.351 percent.

Police say the outcomes could have been tragic if the two hadn't been found in time.
