Funeral procession protests violent deaths among youths

ATLANTA -

Hundreds of hearses and motorcycles took part in a "stop the Violence" rally and procession through the streets of Atlanta on Sunday.

The National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association sponsored the event to draw attention to the number of deaths associated with violence.

A procession of motorcycles and hearses traveled through the streets of Atlanta from the Greater Springfield Baptist Church to Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.

The group says it is the number of violent deaths to young people that compelled them to make the demonstration.

Local funeral directors from across Georgia participated in the procession and rally.
