PHOTOS: Minnesota's first snowfall of the season

Posted: Updated:

Some Minnesotans woke up to a few flakes on Sunday morning -- the first snow in some areas of the northland was met with mixed reviews.

Measurable snow fell Sunday in northern Minnesota, with 5 inches reported in Askov, Minn. (Pine County) and lesser amounts in Duluth-Superior.

Monday will be a cold day with highs in the 30s under mostly cloudy skies, but with winds gusting to 30 mph, wind chills will be in the teens when you wake up and around 30 during the afternoon. The chilly temperatures continue through the week as two more reinforcing shots of cold air are expected before next weekend.
