Kira Steger's funeral set for Saturday in Wausau, Wis.
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
A funeral for Kira Steger will be held next Saturday at St. Mark's Parish in Rothschild, Wis., a village near Wausau.
Steger's husband, Jeffery Trevino, was convicted of second-degree murder on Oct. 2. Prosecutors told jurors that Steger was killed by Trevino because she was having an affair and was planning to divorce Trevino.
Steger's body was recovered from the Mississippi River in May, and was last seen alive in late February at Mall of America. Steger "left this world and went to heaven before her time on February 21, 2013," her obituary in the Wausau Daily Herald details.
The obituary also cites "Pura vida" as the essence of Steger, a Costa Rican colloquialism that literally translates to "pure life," but more closely means "full life," meaning no matter how much or how little you have, life is short, so you must live life to the fullest.
