PHOENIX -

Police say four suspects forced their way into a house, ordered the residents to get on the ground at gunpoint and proceeded to ransack the home.

This happened around 4 a.m. near State Route 51 and McDowell Road on Wednesday when the suspects demanded drugs and cash.

Authorities say one of the victims, a 53-year-old woman, was pistol whipped and suffered a minor injury.  A 22-year-old female and 15-year-old male were brought from their bedrooms to the living room.

"What they finally left with is a small amount of cash, laptop computer, tennis shoes, cell phones and the keys the vehicles that you see in the driveway, however they did not take the vehicles, said Officer James Holmes of the Phoenix Police Department.

One suspect did try to fire upon a dog in the house.  Police say the victims reported hearing a "pop pop pop" sound, but nothing was fired.

The suspects are described as Hispanic males, ages 18 to 25-years-old.

Investigators say there is no indication that the home had drugs or cash.  They are trying to determine why the house was targeted.
