ATLANTA -

A firefighter suffered minor burns early Wednesday while battling flames at a vacant home in Atlanta.

Crews say the blaze sparked just before 4 a.m. at a house on Sunset Avenue Northwest.  Firefighters say they had to use lots of resources to battle the intense blaze, and one firefighter suffered second-degree burns to his shoulder.  He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, and is expected to be okay.

Flames from the vacant house spread to a second home next door.  The residents weren't home at the time, and firefighters were able to contain the flames before they spread to a third home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials said that there was likely no power running to the vacant home, so it's possible that there were homeless people inside.
