EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) -

A private music teacher from Coon Rapids has been accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a 13-year-old Eden Prairie boy taking flute lessons.

Robert James Ladwig, 29, has been charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, carrying a maximum 10-year sentence.

According to charges, Ladwig was giving flute lessons at the boy's home on June 27, 2013 and the boy's father discovered the two sitting very closely together on the couch, but moved away when he entered the room. Ladwig asked permission to stay and play video games with the boy, but the father said no.

Later that evening, the father told his wife he had seen Ladwig rubbing his son's feet and touching his thigh during previous lessons, and his son said it made him feel uncomfortable.

Eden Prairie police spoke with the boy who said over the last three months, Ladwig would massage his feet during his flute lessons, but on June 27, the boy pulled away when Ladwig touched him inappropriately in the groin area. Ladwig asked the boy to go into another room with a couch to give him a massage, and as the massage ensued, the boy's father walked in.

In 2011, Ladwig pled guilty to disorderly conduct for kissing one of his young female students. That same year, he revealed to his ex-wife that he had received counseling for his struggles with child pornography.
