The 2013 WNBA Champion Minnesota Lynx celebrated with an estimated 5,000 fans with a parade on Monday morning and party inside Target Center.
In a 7-0 postseason, the Lynx trampled the Atlanta Dream in three wins, and were welcomed home in grand fashion with the help of about 300 supporters at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, WNBA Championship trophy in hand.
Maya Moore returned as the 2013 Finals MVP and tallied 23 points on the night to carry the team to an 86-77 victory.
The Lynx have now brought home two world championships in three years and finished with the best record in the WNBA, 26-8.
Lynx owner Glen Taylor will address the crowd followed by comments from players and the coaching staff. Both events are free and open to the public.
The parade will begin on the corner of 12th street and Nicollet Avenue where it will continue onto 7th Street leading to First Avenue North and end at the Target Center.
