Detroit teen shot in home by man wearing a disguise

DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

A 15 year old male is in critical condition after being shot by a man who came to his door, wearing a disguise, and open fired into the home.

Around 11:30 p.m. Monday a suspect approached a home on Cascade Street near Joy Road, police say. They believe he was armed with a loaded shotgun and was wearing a black baseball hat, a white mask and possibly a bandana.

The suspect knocked on the door and, when it was opened, fired shots into the home. One of those shots hit the teenager in the back as he was running to the back of the house. Neighbors of the victim say tell Fox 2's Maurielle Lue the teen has special needs, is a good kid and likes to play basketball.

"He never bothered nobody," Alfred Rucker, a neighbor, says. "It's just a bad situation. You hate to see anybody get hurt, or shot, or anything like that. We're trying to do our best to keep our neighborhood halfway decent and everybody kind of goes along with it. It's just a bad thing."

Detroit Police did have a person of interest in custody, but Fox 2 has learned the suspect had no connection to the shooting.
