Elderly man with Alzheimer’s missing from West Side

Police are searching for an elderly man with Alzheimer's disease who went missing while going to a West Town bank on Monday.

Evaristo Cruz, 85, was last known to be going to a bank branch in the 1400 block of West Chicago Avenue, according to an alert issued by police Tuesday.

Cruz was described as Hispanic, 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds with brown eyes, gray hair and a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray Members Only jacket, black pants and black gym shoes.

Cruz, of the 800 block of North Maplewood, is in the early stages of Alzheimer's, police said.
