Stabbing at party on fraternity-owned property near Bemidji, Minn.

BEMIDJI, Minn. (KMSP) -

A man was stabbed in the back while trying to break-up a fight at a fraternity party in Bemidji, Minn. early Sunday morning.

According to the Beltrami County sheriff's office, deputies were called at 12:46 a.m. Sunday to intercept a car that was bringing the 18-year-old stabbing victim to Sanford Hospital. Paramedics took over and took the victim to the hospital.

Deputies learned Jace Ugrich of Bovey, Minn. had been stabbed at a large party on property on Hensel Drive NE, owned by the Theta Tau Epsilon Fraternity Alumni Corporation.

Ugrich was trying to break-up a fight between two other men when an unknown suspect came from behind and stabbed him in the back.

Ugrich was in satisfactory condition Monday afternoon.
