A quick hitting cold front spreads its wings and flies through the area Friday night and Saturday bringing with it some much needed rain. Unfortunately though, many locations didn't get a whole lot. But every little bit helps at this point. Most metro locations received anywhere from a tenth to about a third of an inch, but some state locations did get over a half inch with areas of the eastern Dakotas receiving the most with more than an inch in many spots just west of us.
Here is where we sit for the last 60 days… well below average across much of the region so more is needed. The good news for those looking for continued mild conditions and sunny days is that it looks like we will string together a few in the coming week, but a much larger storm system does look like it will enter the north central parts of the country at the end of next week, however the exact track and intensity is still unknown. But it does have potential to provide someone with beneficial rainfall.
