GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

Police say a homeowner shot a man trying to break into his house in Norcross on Thursday.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, the homeowner called 911 around 11 a.m. and said that two men were attempting to get inside his house on Greenway Road.

The homeowner grabbed his handgun and fired after he said one of the men tried to force his way in through a window.

Both suspects then fled the scene, according to police.

Less than an hour later, police were informed by staff at the Gwinnett Medical Center that a man matching the description of the injured suspect had gone to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound. The suspect was taken into surgery and was in serious condition.

Police identified the injured suspect as 22-year-old Tajh Guillont.

The second suspect was caught on surveillance footage entering the hospital with Guillont, police said. He has not been located.

The homeowner was not injured and will not face charges, according to police.
