Honors student brings gun to school, National Hispanic Heritage Month: Chat Room

On Thursday's Chat Room, Sun-Times Splash editor Susanna Negovan, FOX 32 reporter Darlene Hill and Good Day Chicago anchor Anna Davlantes discussed the Urban College Prep honors student who brought a gun to school for protection from gang members harassing him.

The ladies also discussed Samuel L. Jackson putting President Obama on blast in an expletive-filled rant for not acting "presidential enough" when it comes to his language, Walmart having to pull a "Naughty Leopard" costume – FOR TODDLERS - from is shelves and a woman who is "earning" her engagement ring by making 300 sandwiches.

National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15. Univision radio host Tsi-Tsi-Ki Felix and Chicago Latino Network creator Jaime Viteri joined the Chat Room to discuss what they believe the public should take away from this special month.
