Front Row At Justin Timberlake On Jimmy Kimmel Live

Posted: Updated:

Oh, what a night! I was behind the scenes and in front of the stage to see Justin Timberlake perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Along with a handful of other media peeps, I was invited as a VIP guest of Guinness, one of the show sponsors. That meant early access to the Jimmy Kimmel Green Room, which wasn't really a green room, but more like a huge lounge replete with large TV screens and lots of delicious catered food and drinks. It also meant I had one of the best seats in the house (although there weren't any actual seats) with something like 10,000 people behind me!

About an hour after his scheduled performance time, Justin finally took to the stage -- feeling sick, by the way -- and totally proved that he is worth the wait. He opened with two new tracks "Take Back the Night" and "TKO" before pausing to introduce one of his older classics. But it was the blunt way he intro'd "Cry Me a River" that took me by surprise. "Women are crazy. Like, f—ing crazy. Sometimes you gotta let ‘em know." He said it in good humor, but I'm sure the crowd could guess which certain famous blonde ex-girlfriend he was talking about. He then finished the set with "Rock Your Body," "Mirrors" and an extended version of "SexyBack."

Based on his performance, I never would've known Timberlake was under the weather -- he danced, interacted with the crowd (even taking a selfie for one lucky fan) and sang without missing a beat. "The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2" arrives Monday, September 30. More info: www.justintimberlake.com
