Carlita Kilpatrick, the wife of former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, was hired earlier this year to help out at the Duncanville Fieldhouse in Texas. City Finance Officials searched her office earlier this summer after someone reported a misappropriation of city assets.

A Duncanville official tells Kilpatrick, "We have a policy here that any time you're over, or anytime you're short, those things are supposed to be reported. They're not supposed to be held back. We're going to have to report this to the city manager and it will be up to him and personnel as far as what is there any action taken."

The action taken was the firing of Kilpatrick on July 18 for failing to report and deposit cash as required by city police. The incident is not a criminal offense, but is against standard procedure.

Fox 2 tried to reach Kilpatrick for comment, but none of our texts or emails were returned.
