SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

A 21-year-old Shelby Township woman accused of leaving her 2-year-old son to die buckled inside a sweltering minivan is to be arraigned Tuesday.

Audrionna Rhoades is charged with child abuse and second-degree murder.

Rhoades is accused of leaving James Nelson in the van the morning of Sept. 3, then driving another vehicle to work. A roommate noticed the boy 9 1/2 hours later.

Macomb County Prosecutor Eric J. Smith says the mother "showed a reckless disregard for the safety of her child."

It's unknown if Rhoades has a lawyer, and she doesn't have a listed phone number.
