The footage is jarring. A man wearing a blue hoodie fires several rounds at point blank range; shoppers scramble for safety. It happened at the Bluelight Liquor Store on Mack Ave. around 5:30pm Sunday. The victim was returning empty bottles to make a quick buck.

"He's a good kid," said one man who asked not to be identified. "He wasn't into drugs or nothing like that."

The man tells Fox 2 the victim is a father in his late teens.

Moments before the shots rang out, the victim lunged at the shooter seemingly in an attempt to take his gun but it didn't work. Someone tackled the gunman before he took off, but he got away and amazingly the victim survived. He's in the hospital in stable condition; he was shot in the stomach and arm.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black man in his 20's, no taller than 5'10". If you have any information call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
