PHOENIX (AP) - An Ahwatukee woman accused in the 2011 beating death of her 3-year-old daughter has pleaded guilty to child abuse.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 25-year-old Ambreatte Daniels entered her plea Friday in the case. Her next scheduled court date is a Nov. 21 status conference.

Daniels was arrested in November 2011 after Ahwatukee police say they found photos on her cellphone that showed the injuries suffered by her daughter. The girl allegedly was abused by her 22-year-old stepfather.

Police suspect Ambreatte knew Corey Daniels was physically abusing her child between early September and late October in 2011.

Dani Mayo died of her injuries on Oct. 28. An autopsy showed the girl had multiple blunt-force trauma injuries and brain swelling. A doctor also noted extensive bruising in different stages of healing.
