Students: Man pointed gun at bus

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Parents of children who attend a northwest Atlanta elementary school are concerned about reports of a man pointing a gun at a school bus.

Students said it happened Tuesday afternoon just as the school bus was pulling away from the Bethune Elementary School campus off of Northside Drive.

Several students say they saw a man pull a gun out of a bag and aim it towards the bus.

Parents say their children were terrified when they got off the bus. The parents are questioning why the bus driver didn't call police.

A spokeswoman for Atlanta Public Schools says the bus driver returned to the school and picked up an administrator to ride along the route. She says they saw the man the kids were talking about but didn't see a gun.

The spokeswoman says the video from a camera on the bus has been turned over to police.
