Philadelphia City Council will introduce its plan to give the cash-starved school district $50 million for unused buildings then sell them to recoup the investment.

Council President Darrell Clarke appeared with half a dozen of his to show examples of now vacant Philly school buildings that he believes could sell for big bucks. Mayor Nutter opposes the idea, and the school district has offered no public either.

In the meantime, Mayor Nutter is trying to raise money to pay for kid's school supplies.
