ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

The Minnesota State Board of Investment has selected Mansco Perry III to lead the state's $68 billion investment portfolio.

Perry was the sole finalist for the executive director job among 55 candidates in a national search. He comes to the state investment board from Macalester College, where he oversaw the school's $634 million endowment and investments.

Current executive director Howard Bicker is retiring next month after more than 30 years on the job. Perry previously served as a deputy under Bicker.

Perry will earn a salary of $325,000 per year.

The Minnesota State Board of Investment is comprised of the governor, attorney general, state auditor and secretary of state.
