SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Abraham Pearson, the man police say escaped from a holding cell at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice, is back behind bars now after police caught him walking near the area by I-94 and Mt. Elliot.

Pearson is expected to be arraigned on ten new charges on Wednesday.

Pearson was due in court on Monday to learn his sentence for an armed robbery carjacking charge. He was facing 10 - 15 years, but now he's likely to face life behind bars.

25-year-old Pearson is believed to have escaped from that holding cell after stabbing sheriff's deputy Harrison Tolliver three times in the neck with a make-shift weapon, taking the deputy's uniform, cell phone and radio, escaping out a back door and then proceeding to carjack a motorist.

He was then on the lose for nearly 15 hours, until a citizen say him walking near Mt. Elliot and I-94 and called 911. Sources say he was tired and trying to catch a ride out of town, but instead, he caught a ride back to jail.
