It was a heartbreaking loss for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday -- so close, but they end up losing in the last 45 seconds by just three points.
Fan favorite pro-bowler Larry Fitzgerald had two touch downs and he's a constant on a team that's seen a lot of changes over the years.
This off season was no different. We asked Larry about losing coach Whisenhunt and gaining coach Arians.
"..they were a great bunch of guys and you were able to do some great things with that staff, but after watching what he was able to accomplish last year.. he.. his head coach has cancer and he takes over then team.. he led them to the playoffs.. it's an unbelievable story and he finally got the shot he rightly deserved for such a long time. I'm glad to be working for him."
The Cardinals also have a new signal caller this year in quarterback Carson Palmer. Larry says Carson is a good choice for the Cards.
"I think Carson, nobody talks about his last year in Oakland.. he did 4,000 yards, he played half the year with a punctured lung. He had a sore elbow. So he's going be in this season healthy.. he's got a lot more weapons in Arizona.. ability to make some plays offensively. I mean Carson's one of those guys who wants to come in, he wants to learn.. he's teaching us new techniques, uses hand signals, he wants to be successful and we want to be successful for him."
We asked Larry about this season's schedule. The team he was most looking forward to playing. Instead, he talked about how disappointed he was over the lack of nationally televised games.
"I was more upset that we'd have more nationally televised games. I was hoping we'd get a Monday night or a Sunday night game or something like that."
Speaking of TV and live cameras, how does he feel about live cameras in the locker room at half-time?
"I think the ladies might like it, but I don't know, that's a good one.. they gotta let us know when the cameras are on.. we don't want any surprises you know."
Larry is a pretty private person, but we were able to learn some of his game day habits, such as how he fuels up on game day. Did you know he sneaks in food while in the locker room at halftime?
"It's the same always. I wake up and eat breakfast. It's not the traditional breakfast.. I eat pasta, six meatballs and a chicken breast and the Pedialite. That's usually my breakfast. I don't like having at full stomach feel. I kinda like not feeling like I've eaten. I eat a little bit at halftime.. snack a little bit at halftime."
