Stunning Images from the Recently Discovered Largest Cave in the World

The largest cave in the world is now prepping for 6 day tours according to the Huffington Post. This massive 5.5 mile long cave is large enough to house a jungle, waterfalls, a river, several animal and never before seen plant species, and stalagmites more than 100 feet tall. Oh and did I mention that you could build a 40 story skyscraper in it? This just puts all caves in the U.S. to shame… well in terms of grandeur.

The Son Doong Cave in Vietnam was discovered in 1991 by a local, but he didn't go in because the entrance was too steep to just walk in. But British cavers began an exploring expedition in 2009 which started with an almost 250 foot rappel to the cave floor. Now the company Oxalis is running trial tours of the cave and accepting signups for six day adventures which will begin next year.
