Two West Bloomfield businesses have fallen victim to a scam.
Carol Low, who has owned the Golden Crown for 30 years, says a guy called saying he was from DTE Energy. He told her she owed $900 or they were going to cut her line. Not willing to take a chance, Low paid up.
The same thing happened to Farhan Najar, owner of La Marsa - except his scam cost him nearly $7,000.

Wiley also talked to Michael Lynch, the Director of Security for DTE Energy. He says scammers are hitting up restaurants all over the country, and if your business is next - don't fall for it. DTE Energy always gives notice at least 30 days notice in advance of possible power shut-off.
