Once the blistering heat gave way to comfortable fair-going conditions, the Minnesota State Fair was able to snap two attendance records over Labor Day weekend.
On Sunday, 236,197 visitors allowed it to be the best-attended single day in State Fair history. Labor Day hit an all-time high attendance for the holiday, tallying 164,277 fair-goers.
Seven of the Fair's 12 days saw scorching sidewalks, smoldering fried cuisine and pools of melting ice cream, but at long last, the final days of the Fair gave way to late summer breeze and comfortable conditions.
