Drowned body found in West Bloomfield subdivision pond

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (myFOXDetroit.com) -

It was just after 4PM Thursday afternoon when Kate Dixon got a knock at her door. Landscapers were working on her property, and she says one of them showed up on her doorstep "white as a ghost."

The landscaper had something to show Dixon - what he believed was a dead body in the pond out back of the house. Dixon followed him out there, and sure enough, that's what she saw too.

"The body was face down in the water. You could see the heels floating, barefoot. At first I thought it was a man," Dixon tells Fox 2's Andrea Isom.

But West Bloomfield police confirm the body is that of a female, possibly in her 20's.

Neighbors believe her death has something to do with a suspicious car they noticed on the for the past few days. They say the car has been abandoned on the street for about three days now, and think it might even be her car.

Some say they even saw a man rummaging through the trunk.

But police aren't suspecting foul play just yet. In fact, they say there are no visible signs of foul play in her death, but the investigation is still ongoing.
