Postal worker accused of stealing Kohl's coupons during daily route

WATERFORD, Mich. (WJBK) -

An Oakland County postal carrier is accused of stealing Kohl's store coupons from addresses along her daily route.

Authorities believe Joann Limbaugh-Nedo stole $10 and $5-off coupons during her Waterford route and used them in-store between June and August 2013.

A Kohl's supervisor at the store in White Lake Township became suspicious, when she noticed a female letter carrier, in uniform, using several coupons during several store visits. The supervisor says the amount of coupons used was more than customers normally have.

The supervisor alerted the U.S. Postal Service Office, and a Kohl's investigator began tracking Limbaugh-Nedo's purchases. The investigator looked at the addresses linked with each coupon used, and found the addresses were along her daily mail route.

Limbaugh-Nedo was questioned, and denied taking the coupons. The criminal complaint says answered with, "I use mine and my daughter's that come to my house. I shop a lot at Kohl's."

Then authorities told her they knew about the addresses of the coupons, and she fessed up.

According to the complaint, one of the agents asked her why she took them and she replied, "I don't know. I knew it was wrong. Because it was convenient. I don't know."

At the end of the interview Limbaugh-Nedo voluntarily resigned her job, but later rescinded her resignation.
