ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

The high heat does encourage some Minnesota State Fair enthusiasts to stay home, but for many visitors, their free time is limited. If you do decide to take on the Fair despite sweltering heat, here's a few things to know:

1. Regions Hospital EMS and the St. Paul Fire Department crews are on hand to ensure that guests can access medical attention if needed

2. Misters are set up at the Medical Aid West and Medical Aid East to cool off

3. There are 40 drinking fountains stationed around the fairgrounds

4. Some vendors like Culligan are giving out free water at their vendor and exhibitor locations

5. Guests can bring their own coolers

6. Water is available for State Fair employees and State Fair police are helping to keep those coolers stocked
