NEW BRIGHTON, Minn. (KMSP) -

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol are asking the public to help locate the driver of a black Honda sedan who struck and injured a construction worker on I-694 in New Brighton on Wednesday night.

At around 9:50 p.m., the concrete pavement repair worker was hit in one of the eastbound lanes of I-694 west of the ramp from the interstate to Long Lake Road.

The driver was in the lane closure coming from at least Silver Lake Road, according to MnDOT.

After hitting the worker, the car continued driving and exited the closed ramp to Long Lake Road while dodging barricades, saws and other equipment. At the top of the ramp, the car crossed the grass median to drive around barricades and turned right onto Long Lake Road.

The car sustained extensive front-end damage.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Minnesota State Patrol at 651-582-1511.
