Bemidji, Minn. is poised and ready to introduce its heaps of hockey fans to world of indoor football.
The city officially has its own Indoor Football League team that will play in the Sanford Center beginning in February, according to the Bemidji Pioneer.
The IFL season has 14 games running from February through June – seven games are played at home, seven on the road.
The franchise is still nameless, but perhaps the city's 14,000 residents will have a few ideas to pitch. A press conference on Wednesday will reveal details of a name-the-team contest as well as sponsorship opportunities.

Bemidji's team will join the Alabama Hammers, Albany Panthers, Columbus Lions, Knoxville Nighthawks, Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, Louisiana Swashbucklers and the Richmond Raiders.
